    Essential Responsibilities

    -Identify and work closely with the hardware and operations engineering development teams to select electronic components from preferred strategic sources

    -Research, review and obtain technical documentation for all new parts.

    -Set up and obtain approval for new components

    -Provide technical support to supply chain (contract manufacturers) with alternate sourcing and end of life solutions (obsolescence issues).

    -Work with component suppliers to obtain and validate Material Declarations for environmental compliance requirements (RoHS, REACH, JIG and other compliance certificates, etc.)

    -Assist hardware engineers in failure analysis of parts (root cause analysis)

    -Aligning Component Engineering Process across engineering and operations- Part number alignment, Component vendor Qualification, Component Substitution, AVL standard parts definitions - Support Design Engineering on NPI & Sustaining products - on part selection and qualification- Review Product (component) Change Notice from component vendors and manage the impact by working with Development team

    -Good Working knowledge in component-level Electronic manufacturing techniques (i.e. IC, transistors, resistors, diodes, magnetics, capacitors manufacturing technologies)

    -Provide Project team support across commodities as the resident component expert

    Qualifications/Requirements

    BS Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering

    3-5 years’ experience on component-level Electronic development process preferably for airborne or automotive applications

    4-6 years total industry experience

    Desired Characteristics

    -Experience as Product/Component Engineer

    -Ability to use Statistical Analysis Tools to aid in Supplier and Product Development

    -Lab Equipment Knowledge and use

    -Understanding of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)

    -Master’s Degree in Material Science is a plus

    -Strong technical and customer communication skills are essential

    -Ability to deal with varied multiple project assignments simultaneously

    -Strong interpersonal skills

    -Highly motivated
